Caroline Breitenberger, Associate Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Director of the Center for Life Sciences Education (CLSE); Judy Ridgway, Assistant Director for CLSE; and Roman Lanno, Associate Professor for Evolution, Ecology and Organismal Biology, participated in the NSF and AAAS co-sponsored conference, “Vision and Change in Biology Undergraduate Education: Chronicling Change, Inspiring the Future,” in Washington, DC, August 28-30. The purpose of the conference was “to mobilize people to focus on undergraduate biology education by engaging them in shared, directed, provocative, and ongoing discussions that lead to action in the immediate future” (more information at http://visionandchange.org/). Two posters were presented to illustrate OSU’s work on advancing Vision and Change recommendations, “A Student-Centered Core Course for Biology Majors” by Caroline Breitenberger, Steven Chordas, and Judy Ridgway and “Future Faculty Professional Development: Ongoing, Developmentally-Appropriate TA PD Course” by Judy Ridgway, Isaac Ligocki, and Jonathan Horn.
