Dave Stetson is the recipient of the 2011-2012 Arts and Sciences Honors Faculty Service Award

It is a great pleasure to announce that Dave Stetson is the recipient of the 2011-2012 Arts and Sciences Honors Faculty Service Award.  This is a high honor in the College and much deserved recognition of Dave’s many contributions to our honors program.  Dave has contributed immensely to the education of Ohio State Honors students.

To share just a few details, Dave began advising Biology Honors students in 1996, counseling approximately 300-400 students per year.  Five years ago he began to share advising responsibilities for Biology Honors students, but took on honors advising responsibilities for two other majors; Zoology and Evolution & Ecology.  This year his current Honors advising count is 230 students.  Dave also has served on 66 Undergraduate Honors Examination Committees.  In recent years he has served on about five or six of these committees per year.   Dave also has taught extensively in the Honors program.  He currently teaches two Honors classes, Biology H115 (Honors Biology I) and EEOB H415 (Principles of Cellular and Developmental Biology).

Over the years Dave has spent an extraordinary amount of time and energy effectively advising, teaching, and helping thousands of our very best students.  Dave has provided these students not only with an enriched academic experience, but he also has promoted their intellectual and personal development.

Thank you Dave, and congratulations!
