Dr. Sarah Ball Nominated Outstanding Research Mentor
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Sarah Ball has been nominated for an Outstanding Research Mentor award.
The Undergraduate Research Office will present the award at the Denman Undergraduate Research Forum during the awards ceremony at 4:30-5:30 p.m. on March 28, 2013, at the Recreation and Physical Activity Center. The awards are designed to recognize and honor individual faculty members who have performed exceptional service as research mentors for undergraduate students. Nominees for this award will be listed in the Denman Forum program.
Regardless of whether or not Dr. Ball receives one of these awards, she is recognized for her generous contributions to the education and personal growth of undergraduate students. Working as a mentor takes a great deal of time and dedication above and beyond regular teaching, scholarship, and service activities.
The following quotes are representative of the praise Sarah received from those who nominated her:
Her unwavering support was the cornerstone to the last year and a half of my continued research under her tutelage. With her leadership and knowledge of the lab I was able to take not only my lab work, but the confidence in myself to a new level expanding into other fields and exploring my passions.
Dr. Sarah Ball is a light in the sometimes dark tunnel of undergraduate education.
I have found my desired path in life under her steady guidance and insightful prodding
Congratulations, Dr. Sarah Ball!
